Toyota – Updates for the 2014 model year will include updates to both the exterior and the interior, and updates to the SUV’s comfort and convenience without sacrificing its hallmark performance capability and excellent value. The 2014 Toyota 4Runner adds quite a few standard features over last year’s model, including an eight-way power driver’s seat and a roof rack, in addition to the aforementioned leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter and Entune.
All 2014 4Runners are powered by the same 4.0-liter V-6 making 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. Regardless of drive configuration, the big-displacement V-6 does its thing through a five-speed automatic. This setup might not be particularly modern or sexy—the V-6’s lack of direct injection and too few gears in the transmission prohibit the drivetrain from being either—but the combo worked well enough off-road in a September 2010 comparison test in which the 4Runner finished second.
oyota calls the 2014 4Runner a redesign but it’s mostly cosmetic changes rather than a full re-engineering of the entire vehicle. The new SUV arrives with a bold new look bound to polarize 4Runner traditionalists and casual observers alike. An expanded grille is set atop a pronounced bumper chin and flanked by vertical air intakes with inset foglights. Narrower headlights replace halogen lamps with projector beams and LED accents.
For the 2014 model year, the 4Runner has been changes with a redesigned front fascia that now features a more rugged and aggressive appearance. There will be a muscular front grille and edgier smoked headlamps.Customers can choose between eight exterior colors: Super White; Attitude Black Metallic; Barcelona Red Metallic; Nautical Blue Metallic; Blizzard Pearl; Classic Silver Metallic; Magnetic Gray Metallic and Black.
